Study of Actin Nucleation and Cell Fate Acquisition in the Reymann Team

The team’s main objective is to characterize single cell actin cytoskeleton identities throughout the early lineage of C. elegans. The approaches developed in the team is at the interface between cell biology, biochemistry and biophysics. The successful applicant will for example develop a novel microfabricated device in order to produce single cell extracts in micron scale wells and directly use this molecular content for actin in vitro polymerization assays using actin nucleating micropatterns (Reymann et al, Nature Material 2010).
