Microscopie Solidaire
As part of the “Microscopie Solidaire” project, the ImaBio community, founded on values of collective action and solidarity, wishes to extend its activities to other communities and share its experience on a larger scale. This project is part of a broader framework of responsible, environmentally friendly, ethical, and sustainable microscopy.
The objectives of the “Microscopie Solidaire” project: :
- to promote the sharing of scientific knowledge and techniques in developing countries;
- to train local technicians and researchers in microscopy
- to repair and adapt existing scientific equipment on site;
- to develop international collaborations based on local needs rather than imposed projects.
Actions « Microscopie Solidaire » in 2025:
MAY 2025
As part of an initial international collaboration with the University of Burundi, the ImaBio research group sent five colleagues to support the development of microscopy in Bujumbura. From May 11 to 26, 2025, a team of GdR ImaBio members organized practical courses, refurbished a fleet of teaching and research microscopes, offered an eight-day practical training course, and carried out two field missions in Burundi’s nature reserves.
