with the support of the GDR ImaBio and EMBRC-France, we are organizing a workshop on Smart DIY Microscopy for Marine Biology in Roscoff from June 03 to 05.
During this hands-on course, you can construct yourself a low-cost, portable and programmable EnderScope.
The workshop will cover all stages of system design, enabling you to replicate a EnderScope and adapt it to your own needs. It is also possible to take the assembled system back to your laboratory (plan for ~300€ material costs).
Participants will learn to :
- Upcycle a 3D printer into a motorised imaging system
- Clone a Git repository to reuse existing code and 3D parts (Open Science)
- Make use of Jupyter Notebooks to manage Python scripts
- Programmatically control all elements of a microscope with Python
- Perform simple image analysis tasks
- Implement Smart Microscopy workflows by combining microscope control and image analysis
- Better apprehend frugal science concepts
Speakers: Jérôme MUTTERER, Erwan GRANDGIRARD, Hugo LE GUENNO
