1-year Research Engineer with expertise in microfabrication & microfluidic applied to cell biology

In the framework of the Intersidisciplinary Institut François Rabelais (Plascan project), a one-year position for a research engineer is available at the Research Center for Cancer (CRCL) to set and develop a new microfabrication facility.

The aim of this new microfabrication facility is to strengthen interdisciplinary projects between physics, biology and cancer, and the link between the biophysic team of the Institut of Light and Matter (ILM) and the CRCL.

The candidate should have a master’s degree or engineering degree, with expertise in microfabrication techniques, and an ability to work independently and collaboratively with biologists and physicists. Candidate who recently defended their Ph.D and are willing to work as a research engineer will also be highly appreciated.

Missions :
– Lab manager of this new facility

– Training of biologists from the CRCL who wants to use the available equipment (PDMS and hydrogel replica moulding, stamping, cell seeding in the microchips).

– Choice, Design and fabrication of the best technical and innovative solution on interdisciplinary projects with lab-on-chip, organ-on-chip applications.

Contract: The position is full time with an initial one-year contract with strong prospects for renewal. The salary will be adapted to the experience of the candidate.

Starting date: september 2021 at the earliest
